If you've ever wanted to be a red-haired diva, have you thought of henna?
No, not the iffy stuff sold in drugstores ... I mean pure, body-art-quality henna and lemon juice, nothing more.
It can be messy (in a fun way!) and takes longer than using traditional hair coloring, but an application of henna on your hair will not only give you a glorious red tone over whatever your current hair color is, it will also soften curls, boost volume and give your hair a wonderful shine. It can even help dandruff!
Not up for red? You can mix other natural herbs with henna to achieve a range of golden and brunette colors: indigo to create brown (or indigo after henna to create jet black!), amla to make warm tones cooler, and cassia to add golden tones.
Speaking from my own experience, trying henna on your hair is worth it at least once and creates amazing color! And contrary to popular belief, you can henna over standard hair color and vice versa.
